The Cloud One Vienna-Staatsoper
Introducing…
Vienna’s locals are hardly fond of overstatement, but even they would call this location ‘spectacular’, with the Vienna State Opera, Naschmarkt, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and much more all in the immediate vicinity.

Very Nice! Renovated with new modern fixtures! Nice modern bathroom and room. The rooms are small so be prepared! Book the largest room if possible!! You won't be happy with the smallest room. Everything else is great. Lobby are is new and modern with nice Cafe/bar. Very close to Old town and easy to get to everything. Metro steps away from hotel. I would recommend if you are okay with a smaller room. My husband and I travel abroad frequently so we if I like a place its says alot 😉
So fresh and so clean and a very good location.
The hotel was perfect except for missing room facilities like slippers , coffee machine and water
The staff at the hotel was excellent, but the maintenance people tried to convince me that my room with a broken air conditioning system (515) was working just fine. The hotel management gave me an upgrade (571), and my new room had air conditioning that worked perfectly. When it's 40°C outside, you cannot try to pass off rooms with broken air conditioning to guests; you have to take those rooms out of inventory. It should not be up to a guest complaining for you to react. This is unacceptable.
I loved my stay! The only thing that bothered me was that there wasn’t a fridge in the room. A special thanks to the receptionist, Rayan, who made my stay much more comfortable.
The rooms are very comfortable, but would be even better if they had a coffee corner. The breakfast is excellent and the staff are super friendly and professional. We didn't like the remodelled bar, the G&T menu you had before seemed to have disappeared... the digital menu is not the most user friendly, either. The decor and the atmosphere was much better before.
A lovely stay in an excellent location! We walked everywhere! The rooms are clean and are very modern and . An extra suitcase stand would be appreciated and somehow a bit of extra counter/storage space in bathroom. Overall, would highly recommend and would stay again. The bar staff were welcoming and friendly!
Comfortable and lovely hotel receptionists. Would benefit from mini fridge in the rooms.
Nice hotel in a great location, close to the Opera and the main shopping street. Rayan, the receptionist, was helpful and made the check-in process smooth and easy. An early check-in was kindly offered, which was greatly appreciated. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, and this hotel can definitely be recommended.
The room floor was not so clean (I could see on the socks becoming dirty) I asked for late check-out on a Sunday as be-one member and initially I was asked to pay (it's already the 3rd time that happens in a Motel One) I had the check-out at 2 pm, but the cleaning came already at 1:45
Beautiful hotel! So comfortable and the most perfect location
We stayed sortly with my parents on our way back home, for a quick visit of the city. The rooms we booked are kind of small but due to the clever decoration felt specious even for someone like me that has suffered from panic attacks. The location is PERFECT everything important is like 2 to 10-15 minutes walk, so we could get the most out of our short visit to the city. The staff is really kind and helfull and I am really appreciative of the management, too! My balcony door had a unexpected malfuction that was impossible to be fixed before we checked out (we literally stayed one day), but the moment the manager was aware of the problem, contacted me immediately on our way to the airport and until we landed I had already receive a fair refund! Definately best value for money! I don't know if I'll visit Vienna, but if I do, staying in The Cloud One again is a motive to do so.
Everything was perfect. I just did not like the first day , when I got out of the lift, there was a cleaning lady who insisted to bring my luggage until my room (not necessary, I come every year in your hotel and I knew the way) and she waited for a tip. I am sure you don't know about this but I just wanted to let you know because, in my opinion, it was a little bit rude. But it's just a detail! I am always very pleased of your hotel and will come back next year. Something else : I work in Venezia in an agency and we have around 60 apartments for turists. When the customers write us that they will arrive early in the morning, our ladies who clean begin to prepare these apartments. And there are not all in the same place but in all the city. So not easy ,but just to satisfy our customers , always very pleased , after a journey,to get in the apartment already cleaned. For you, it would be easier : all rooms in the same building! But unfortunately, even if your customers arrive early in the morning ( it's my case), check in is at 3pm. You do not change the orde of cleaning .
Loved the ac 🤣
Staff was warm, welcoming and responsive. Great value. Excellent location. Single room was just right for one, loved the door to fresh air, black-out curtains, and modern feel. Although I saw reviews about a lack of items in the room, I had a suitcase rack, chair and desk, cup, and safe. My two problems were quickly taken care of. The air-conditioning was not working in my room and they quickly moved me to another room. The floors were not cleaned until I asked for cleaning. I was there quite a few days and it may not be typically done, but housekeeping should have noticed. Third time at Motel One and will return.
Very nice hotel, little expensive the breakfast and the bar prices. Also the barmen werent friendly at all. Excellent location, great receiption staff
Perfect location for anyone wishing to visit Vienna. Very close to a taxi rank. Very warm welcome and helpful staff. Rooms are adequate, though a small wardrobe would be useful.
Overall, the impression is positive. More specifically: the location is excellent, the staff is very pleasant, and although the room is small, it is cozy. The bed is very comfortable, and the air conditioning in the summer is a lifesaver. On the downside: I was surprised by the lack of a telephone, and the Wi-Fi was very unstable and slow. I would also like to have a kettle in the room.
Wonderful staff! Perfect location. A very good breakfast. My only issue was that our bathroom was very small.
Excellent location, decent service, receptionist needs training.
Firstly: personell was really really kind (and Italian speaking, too). However the rooms (we had the basic ones) where really small, one was freezing (we tried changing the temperature to no avail), the other one better but in the morning there was a cockroach (quite disgusting). Also being at the mezzanine level was a little underwhelming. In general I think you can get better money for value in Vienna. Perhaps higher level rooms are worth the extra expense
We enjoyed our stay once again in Cloud One Wien-Staatsoper. Friendly service, excellent rooms, good value in a great location
GREAT location. Small rooms minimally equipped. Avoid the lowest priced rooms. Reception was a training ground for interns.
Excellent experience overall. Value for money was wonderful, the location is Excellent and the hotel is beautiful. The bedroom as neat, small but overall very comfortable.
Wonderful stay. It was great that the World Cup games were screening in common spaces so guests could watch together.
Check-in was quick and friendly, room was quiet looking towards the inner courtyard. Kudos for figuring out a way to not make the room doors slam as loudly as in other hotels. The only weird thing was that the toilet brush was stuck in the bowl, hidden under the closed lid. Looks like somebody was interrupted mid cleaning ;)
I asked for a vaccum for broken glass at 11 pm and they said housekeeping was gone. I said it is not safe for broken glass to be on the floor and then someone came. Would have been nice to not have to convince them to come
I am writing to express my deep disappointment regarding the lack of response to my urgent inquiry. Recently, my grandmother passed away, which has been a very difficult time for my family. Due to her passing, I had to cut my stay short and check out of the hotel three nights before my scheduled departure. Following this loss, I submitted a formal request through your website's inquiry system to check if I could receive a refund for those remaining nights. Unfortunately, I have yet to receive any response or update from your team. I would appreciate it if someone could review my request and get back to me as soon as possible
Great staff, excellent room, chill vibe.
10 is perfect to me, but indicates you can't improve. I think The Cloud is a pretty special place, rooms are really comfortable, the staff are helpful, have a positive, really helpful attitude. My experience of the staff team were that they were outstanding. I'd have liked a chair in my room
We loved our stay last week!! Especially the Air Conditioning (we were there during a heat wave). The front desk staff was very helpful in every way, including booking a reliable cab for our very early morning departure to the airport.
We found the allocated room, (Room 018), floor size, wardrobe/storage facilities, decoration and basement location inadequate and disappointing for 2 persons sharing. We made our feelings clear at the front desk shortly after arrival, but they were unhelpful and uninterested. Given the allocated rate and time of reservation, (February 2026), added further to this disappointment. We have used the MotelOne group of hotels many times previously in other European cities and have stayed at this same hotel previously under the MotelOne group and were aware of the standards expected. We are aware of the recently completed refurbishments to the entrance and communal guest areas of your hotel which unfortunately do not seem to have not been extended to Room 018. I feel given our experience, we cannot consider using the CloudOne group in future. Hopefully our scoring feedback reflects our disappointment.
Ideal location for Central Vienna.
Ok but would have liked tea and coffee in room. As I have stayed many times this should be on my record so that I am welcomed back. No loyalty/upgrade system. Wasn't offered water on arrival.
The location is excellent. The room was clean and personel were friendly.
The only disappointment was the room. Considering the price we paid, we did not expect to be assigned a ground-floor room overlooking the air conditioning units. The room felt quite damp and there was a noticeable musty smell. Compared to another Motel One we stayed at in Manchester, the breakfast selection was less varied, although the quality was still good
New refreshed rooms Clean friendly staff Easy check in/check out very good! Location - the best!
I would have given a 7 on 10, but they switch off their AC every five minutes, so my sleep was not so great, but otherwise it is excellent. Normally finish it up before only.
Very comfortable stay.
I stayed there for 4 days with my cousin. we really enjoyed this experience and we even met Mario, an italian receptionist. He was so nice and we talked a lot, he even helped us to find the perfect restaurants. The hotel was magnificent, quiet and its architecture was wonderful. I really recommend this place, they really think about everything
This review focuses on the extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism of two Motel One Vienna Staatsoper employees, one a front desk clerk and one a manager as well as praise and complaints about the hotel. Hotel Manager: Jakob Front desk clerk: Valertin My second night was on a second reservation since I added five nights to my first. I was assured on check-in that I could keep the same room and would not be forced to switch for day two through six. On initial check-in, the clerk wrote a note saying this person can stay in the same room for his colleagues. The next day, when trying to check in for the next five nights, the front desk clerk Valertin said I had to change rooms. When I said I was assured that I would not have to disrupt my trip and can keep the same room, he insisted that I had to move to a new room. I asked for the manager. Jakob (The manager) had already been rude to me the day before as had Valertin. Jakob insisted I had to move and disregarded all of the assurances I was given the day before. He was also incredibly rude. When I tried to talk to a colleague (happens to be my daughter, who’s an MD) in asking for a late check-in so we could go out for lunch, he interrupted me and told me to stop talking to the colleague (My daughter). You don’t tell someone they can’t talk to their daughter. Jakob is a piece of work and is extremely rude and abrasive. I paid for two rooms, each roughly €150-200 a night and that’s the way I was treated. This hotel has some incredibly tiny rooms, I’ve stayed at Motel ones for well over 300 nights in the last 10 years and I’ve never seen rooms that are as small as in this hotel, some so small that they can’t even fit a chair in the room, And I’m talking several rooms like that minimal. One room had a metal wall directly out the window with zero visibility. It felt like a tomb. The manager told me that’s protected historically which makes no sense. Extremely rude people mentioned above affected my enjoyment of my trip, the other front desk, clerks that I dealt with seemed friendly and professional. Air-conditioning seemed adequate.
The hotel was very clean and the air con worked well during the heatwave. One day there was water available at reception, but the next day there was not. I would have liked the option to grab a coffee before heading out but this wasn’t an option or maybe wasn’t communicated. The single rooms were small but comfortable - only three hangers and no other storage so may be an issue for guests staying longer than 3-4 nights.
Amazing location. Rooms could be more equipped with bath accessories like hair conditioner and small bath supplies like hair cup and Cotton buds. Breakfast is super good.
A lovely hotel with friendly staff in a great location. The new design of the rooms takes a bit of getting used to (especially the headboard on the beds, I did prefer the old design and found it had more storage space next to the beds) For this class of hotel and with the rebranding I would recommend putting a kettle with tea and coffee in all rooms ( this was missing in our balcony room)
Room is too plain. Lighting is poor and there should be at one drinking class. In a small room there was no chair of any kind. Chair is a basic furniture in the room. I like the location of the hotel.
Always happy to return to my favorite place!
Beautiful lobby. Great location. Very nice breakfast. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Great bar selection.
Perfect location. Great service, very nice staff! Just one concern- No coffee machine in the room. But! Great coffee downstairs. Thank you! I hope to stay in this hotel again in the future.
The breakfast was absolutely excellent, and the service during breakfast was outstanding! Huge congratulations to the entire kitchen staff for their hard work and dedication. However, the room lacked a wardrobe, drawers or even a small shelf, which made longer stays quite inconvenient. With no proper place to store clothes, shoes, or personal items like makeup, it felt a bit impractical. It definitely felt like the room design overlooked the needs of guests staying longer than just one night — or perhaps was created without much thought to practicality!
