Property security, preserving the interests/physical safety of the guests (third-party interests, see below)

3. Duration of the storage of personal data

The data stored by video surveillance is immediately deleted once it has fulfilled its purpose, is no longer required (Art. 17 (1)(a) GDPR) or if the legitimate interests of the data subject would be threatened by further storage. Data is generally deleted after 48 hours.

 

4. Automated decision-making and profiling

No automated decision-making or profiling (automated processing of personal data by algorithms for evaluation) is carried out.

 

5. Information on disclosure and foreign elements

Data may only be disclosed to government offices and member companies of the Motel One Group in compliance with the legal requirements. The data may not be disclosed to non-EU countries.

 

6. Information on the rights of the data subject

According to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, data recording is legally permissible as long as it is required to protect the legitimate interests of the controller and these are not outweighed by the legitimate interests or fundamental rights of the data subject. In this case, the legitimate interests of the controller are:

  • • Acknowledgement of domiciliary rights
  • • Prevention of criminal offences
  • • Ability to track criminal offences
  • • General security interests of Motel One (private space opened to the public)
  • • Interests of guests/third-party interests

 

The data subject has the following rights:

Right of access according to Art. 15 GDPR, right to rectification according to Art. 16 GDPR, right to erasure according to Art. 17 GDPR, right to restriction of processing according to Art. 18 GDPR, right to data portability according to Art. 20 GDPR and the right to object to processing steps related to ‘legitimate interests’ according to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, as well as the possibility of filing a complaint with a supervisory authority according to Art. 77 GDPR.
