EAT OUT

Just around the corner

In New York, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to satisfying your hunger! But if you're in a hurry or endless subway rides aren't an option, here are a few tips within walking distance of The Cloud One. All tested by us, all found to be good.

O'HARA'S PUB

Just arrived and still hungry for something warm? Or do you want a little nightcap after a long day in the city without having to look far? Then drop straight out of the hotel into this cosy Irish pub: there's delicious, solid pub food like burgers, sandwiches, chicken wings & co. and a super friendly atmosphere - everyone is really welcome here!
What's special: After the attacks of September 11, the pub was a haven for the emergency services and construction workers. Hundreds of badges of the firefighters and rescue workers who were on duty here hang on the walls - meanwhile supplemented by hundreds from all over the world as a sign of solidarity.
O'Hara's is undoubtedly a true New York institution.

SCHILLING

As the name suggests: Austrian cooking is done here, but with a modern-international influence. This combination results, for example, in burrata on warm pumpkin with butter-roasted breadcrumbs and farmhouse bread. No kitschy clichés in sight here, just incredible cuisine and cocktails in the most charming of interiors - whitewashed brick walls, wooden beams, candlelight. Speaking of drinks, be sure to try one of the bar chef's creations - the most creative we've had in New York by far.

FRAUNCES TAVERN

At Fraunces Tavern, you can argue about whether to visit the museum first or go straight to bruch, lunch or dinner. Because the picturesque little house, which today sits between skyscrapers, already welcomed George Washington in 1783. In the historic tavern, you can enjoy a home-style American meal with English influences (fish n' chips meets steak), an ale or a drink at the bar, or listen to live music. Our tip: During the Christmas season, the interior is so lovingly decorated that you feel like being in a postcard scene.

MUGHLAI

For a little excursion into colourful India, you only have to walk about 5 minutes from the hotel door. The small Indian restaurant is always busy - because it is simply delicious, no frills attached!
Our tip: Try the lunch menu, which will get you a delicious, rich meal with appetizer, main course, naan, rice and daal for a really fair price for New York.
