Participants and participation

The contest is open to all individuals over the age of 18 who are permanent residents of the EU, UK or Switzerland. This excludes employees of Motel One and their relatives. Failure to comply with any of the rules will lead to the exclusion of the participant from the contest. Similarly, any attempted manipulation shall result in exclusion from the contest.

Contest period and prizes

The contest starts on 27 March 2026 and concludes on 12 April 2026 at 11:59 pm.

To enter the giveaway, the survey linked in the Instagram Story by @thecloudonehotels on the SoSciSurvey platform must be completed in full.

Participation in the giveaway requires that the survey has been completed in full and that these terms and conditions are expressly acknowledged. By entering and submitting an email address in the designated field at the end of the survey, participants acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions.

The winner will receive 2 nights in a double room at a The Cloud One of their choice, including breakfast for two people. Travel to and from the hotel is not included in the prize and must be arranged and paid for by the winner. Prizes can be redeemed subject to availability and outside trade fair and event periods until 31 December 2026.

The winner will be selected at random from all participants who have fulfilled the required conditions.

To be entitled to their prize, the winner must declare their acceptance to Motel One within 72 hours and submit all data required for announcing the winner. The prize cannot be changed nor redeemed for cash. Prize claims are not transferable.

Disclaimer / changes to the conditions of participation

Motel One assumes no liability for the availability of the Motel One website. Motel One assumes no liability for any potential transmission errors.

Premature termination of and changes to the contest

Motel One reserves the right to terminate or change the contest without prior notice at any time if the correct implementation of the contest cannot be guaranteed for technical or other reasons or if the fairness of the contest appears to have been compromised. The participants shall not derive any claims from such events.

Other provisions

There shall be no recourse to legal action. The participants shall have no enforceable claims to the prize or redemption thereof in cash. These eligibility requirements and the entire legal relationship between the participant and Motel One are governed exclusively by German law. Should individual clauses of the eligibility requirements be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining clauses shall remain unaffected.

Final clause

This contest is not affiliated with Instagram. It is in no way sponsored, supported or organised by Meta. Any information submitted by participants is received not by Instagram but by Motel One. All submitted information is used for the sole purpose of conducting the contest. The participants release Meta from any liability that may result from claims arising from the contest (in particular, its publication and organisation). Any questions, comments or complaints about the contests shall be directed to Motel One and not Meta.

- Purpose and scope of data processing and legal basis

As part of our social media activities, we conduct voluntary, anonymous surveys to better understand the interests and opinions of our community. No personal data is collected and the information collected is not linked to personal data. The surveys are carried out on behalf of Motel One using the SoSciSurvey tool, which acts as a contractual processor for us in accordance with Article 28 GDPR. For this purpose, we have concluded a contractual processing contract with our service provider in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR. Your personal data will only be processed in accordance with our instructions.

Optionally, contact details for participation in competitions or similar promotions can be provided at the end of the survey.

The data is processed for the following purposes:

• Implementation and management of the competition

• Winner notification

This data will not be used for any other purpose; in particular, it will not be linked to survey results. As part of this process, the participant’s email address is collected.
